Moldovan media highlights Azerbaijan’s hosting of WUF13

The influential Moldovan news outlet “Noi.md” has published an article highlighting the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) held in Baku.
The article reported that today in Azerbaijan’s capital, the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), one of the largest international platforms dedicated to urban development and the future of urbanism, has commenced.
Co-organized by the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) and the Government of Azerbaijan, the forum will continue until May 22.
“According to official information, more than 42,000 people from various countries have registered to participate in the Forum. The event is expected to be attended by a number of state leaders, ministers, UN representatives, international experts, local authorities, and civil society organizations. A Leaders’ Summit dedicated to international cooperation in the field of urban planning will also be held at Azerbaijan’s initiative within WUF13. “The first day of the Forum includes a ministerial meeting within the framework of the New Urban Agenda. Participants will discuss the results, current challenges, and future directions of action,” the article noted.
The report emphasized that as part of the World Urban Forum, the “Global Water Operators Partnerships Alliance” Assembly will take place for the first time as a distinct event. “The event is jointly organized by UN-Habitat, the Global Alliance for Water Operators Partnerships, and the State Water Resources Agency of Azerbaijan”.
