1 August. President Heydar Aliyev received the delegations of Hay Baker of the USA, Sohnut World Jewish Agency and the Ministry of International Trade and Industry of Japan.
2 August. He met with members of the general public of Aghdam district.
3 August. He addressed the opening of the anniversary exhibition of the national artist Maral Rahmanzada.
7-11 August. He paid a visit to Russia. As part of the visit, he attended the inauguration of the President of the Russian Federation and met with the senior government officials of the country.
13 August. He received the heads of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.
14 August. He met with Azerbaijani athletes returning from Atlanta Summer Olympic Games.
21 August. He held a meeting dedicated to supply of the population with bread and bakery products.
24 August. He participated in the commissioning ceremony of "Dade Gorgud" drilling rig.
27 August. He met with the executive director of the United Nations International Drug Control Programme.
30 August. He attended the ceremony dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Aliagha Vahid.

On 29 September, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed an Order to declare 2023 as a “Year of Heydar Aliyev” in the country. 10 May 2023 will mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of Heydar Aliyev, the national leader of the Azerbaijani people, the founder of the independent state of Azerbaijan, and an outstanding politician and statesman.
