3 August. President Heydar Aliyev received Chairman of Committee on International Affairs of State Duma of the Russian Federation Vladimir Lukin.
6 August. He met with members of “Khazri” Azerbaijan society operating in Novosibirsk.
9-10 August. He visited Kyiv to attend the event dedicated to the 60th anniversary of Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma.
11 August. He issued a statement regarding the appeal of election associations and initiative groups to the President.
13 August. He met with Director General of Turkish Red Crescent Society Fatih Evren.
17 August. He received renowned heart surgeon Michael DeBakey.
21 August. He presented “Shohrat” order to a number of literary, cultural, art, scientific, religious and sports figures.
23 August. He made a speech at the inauguration of the new complex of the Russian Embassy in Azerbaijan.
30 August. He met with a delegation led by Secretary General of the Council of Europe (CE) Daniel Tarschys.
31 August. He delivered a speech at the all-republic meeting of the specialists who studied abroad in 1970-1987.

On 29 September, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed an Order to declare 2023 as a “Year of Heydar Aliyev” in the country. 10 May 2023 will mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of Heydar Aliyev, the national leader of the Azerbaijani people, the founder of the independent state of Azerbaijan, and an outstanding politician and statesman.
