1 December. President Heydar Aliyev gave an interview to UK’s “Economist” magazine as part of his visit to London. He held meetings with President of France’s Lazard Bank and First Vice-President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in London.
3-5 December. He embarked on a working visit to Paris.
5 December. He made a speech at the “Investments for Azerbaijan” international conference organized by the World Bank. He was awarded honorary doctorate in International Relations from “9 Eylul University”.
7 December. He delivered a speech at the mourning ceremony held at Tazapir Mosque to commemorate victims of plane crash that occurred in Nakhchivan.
9 December. He made a speech at the opening ceremony of reconstructed intercity communication station with the involvement of Turkey’s “Alcatel Teletas” company in Baku.
He, together with Turkish President Suleyman Demirel, attended the foundation stone laying ceremony of the building of Turkey’s “Bayholding” company.
16 December. He met with the newly elected members of board of the Republican Union of Cinematographers.
19 December. He delivered a speech at the event dedicated to the 60th anniversary of birth of writer Yusif Samadoglu.
25 December. He made a speech at the event dedicated to the 20th anniversary of establishment of the Baku household air-conditioners plant.
He attended the event dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the renowned public and political figure, scholar, playwright Shikhali Gurbanov.
27 December. He attended the event dedicated to the 90th anniversary of birth of People’s Poet Osman Sarivalli.
29 December. He made a speech at the opening ceremony of the Family Health Center.
30 December. He met with Azerbaijani sportsmen and coaches who achieved high results at international competitions in 1995.
He addressed the people of Azerbaijan on the occasion of the Day of Solidarity World Azerbaijanis.
31 December. He delivered a speech at the meeting with children brought up in orphanages and boarding schools.
He congratulated Azerbaijani people on the occasion of the New Year.

On 29 September, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed an Order to declare 2023 as a “Year of Heydar Aliyev” in the country. 10 May 2023 will mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of Heydar Aliyev, the national leader of the Azerbaijani people, the founder of the independent state of Azerbaijan, and an outstanding politician and statesman.
