2 February. President Heydar Aliyev made a speech at the event dedicated to Azerbaijani Youth Day.
3 February. He appealed to the Milli Majlis with regard to abolition of the death penalty in Azerbaijan.
4 February. He held a meeting of the Security Council on the settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict.
11 February. He met with Lebanese Prime Minister Rafic al-Hariri.
13-14 February. He paid a working visit to Turkey.
18 February. He delivered a speech at the all-republican meeting of representatives of the Youth Union of the New Azerbaijan Party.
23-28 February. He paid his first official visit to Japan.

On 29 September, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed an Order to declare 2023 as a “Year of Heydar Aliyev” in the country. 10 May 2023 will mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of Heydar Aliyev, the national leader of the Azerbaijani people, the founder of the independent state of Azerbaijan, and an outstanding politician and statesman.
