9 June. On the invitation of the leadership of Azerbaijan, Great Leader Heydar Aliyev arrived in Baku.
13-14 June. He visited Ganja to investigate events occurred on June 4.
15 June. He was elected as a Chairman of the Supreme Soviet of Azerbaijan.
18 June. In a televised speech, he addressed the nation over the situation emerged in the country.
24 June. He took office as a President of Azerbaijan.
25 June. He held one-on-one meetings with Turkish, German, Iranian and Chinese ambassadors to the country.

On 29 September, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed an Order to declare 2023 as a “Year of Heydar Aliyev” in the country. 10 May 2023 will mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of Heydar Aliyev, the national leader of the Azerbaijani people, the founder of the independent state of Azerbaijan, and an outstanding politician and statesman.
