1 May. President Heydar Aliyev met with Commander-in-Chief of the Gendarmerie of Turkey, Army General Aytac Yalman.
4 May. He received the heads of chambers of commerce and industry of GUOAM member countries and a number of other countries.
7 May. He participated in the presentation ceremony of BP company's projects implemented in the country.
9 May. He made a speech at the ceremony marking the 56th anniversary of the victory over Fascism.
11 May. He received the delegation led by President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Jean Lemier.

On 29 September, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed an Order to declare 2023 as a “Year of Heydar Aliyev” in the country. 10 May 2023 marked the 100th anniversary of the birth of Heydar Aliyev, the national leader of the Azerbaijani people, the founder of the independent state of Azerbaijan, and an outstanding politician and statesman.
