1 October. President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev met with President of the Republic of Turkey Suleyman Demirel in Istanbul, as he ended his visit to the United States. He also made a press statement.
3 October. He made a televised speech and radio broadcast over the socio-political situation in the country.

On 29 September, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed an Order to declare 2023 as a “Year of Heydar Aliyev” in the country. 10 May 2023 will mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of Heydar Aliyev, the national leader of the Azerbaijani people, the founder of the independent state of Azerbaijan, and an outstanding politician and statesman.
