3 September. President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev met with Personal Representative of the US President Madeleine Albright.
4-7 September. He visited Egypt to attend the UN international conference dedicated on "World Population and Development".
8-9 September. He attended the meeting of heads of state and government of the CIS countries in Moscow.
10 September. He received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey.
11 September. He held a meeting dedicated to the progress of negotiations with Western companies on the joint development of oil fields in the Caspian Sea.

On 29 September, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed an Order to declare 2023 as a “Year of Heydar Aliyev” in the country. 10 May 2023 will mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of Heydar Aliyev, the national leader of the Azerbaijani people, the founder of the independent state of Azerbaijan, and an outstanding politician and statesman.
