MR. ILHAM ALIYEVPRIME-MINISTER OF THE REPUBLIC OF AZERBAIJAN
On behalf of JETRO, I would like to express my heartfelt congratulations on Your appointment to the position of Prime-Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
We know that for the past years, the economy of your great country has successfully overcome consequences of the crisis, and began to be re-established due to the intensive development of oil industry. Such a course of events may be considered as the result of your successful activity as the head of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan. Moreover, holding a number of important positions including that of the head of the national delegation of Azerbaijan Republic to PACE, you, as a man who has rich experience and achievements in both domestic and foreign policy, will lead your beautiful country towards new successes.
As the Agency of Japanese Government for Promotion Development of International Trade and Investments, the JETRO has been engaged in economic co-operation with Azerbaijan assisting in development of non-oil sector. One of the examples of our joint activity is the ‘Exhibition of Three Caucasus Republic’, which was in Tokyo in 2000. The success of this unique exhibition was caused by active involvement of the Government of Azerbaijan in its organization.
On the instructions of the Japanese Government, JETRO is now working at realization in Azerbaijan of the project ‘Model of Co-operation with Oil Producing Countries.’ In its framework, we are going to assist Azerbaijan oil field equipment manufacturer so that its products be certified in accordance with international standards. In this connection, I plan to visit your country personally to sign a memorandum on mutual understanding, in which basic terms and conditions of the joint work with your government will be agreed.
I am looking forward to visit the intensively developing capital of your great country, and it would be a great honor for me to see you at that time.
Sincerely,
Hiroshi Zukamoto
President of Japan Organization for Foreign Trade Development (JETRO)
