NATIONAL MINORITIES ENJOY FULL RIGHTS IN AZERBAIJAN State Adviser for Nationalities Policy issues Idayat Orujev has visited Gabala, Oguz, Gakh, Zagatala and Balakan regions of Azerbaijan to meet with representatives of national minorities, familiarize himself with social problems they face, as well as to hold meetings dedicated to the upcoming Presidential elections with leaders of state, municipal and public organizations, and activists of the ‘Yeni Azerbaijan’ Party.During the meetings, representatives of national minorities especially stressed that they considered themselves as citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan enjoying full rights, and pointed out the absence of the facts of discrimination and contradictions on national or religious ground; they said they have their own schools, libraries, mosques, churches, synagogues, theaters, newspapers, and are represented in state structures, public organizations and election bodies. Announcing that he has arrived at these meetings on the instructions of the President Heydar Aliyev, the state adviser conveyed to the population of the region warm greetings and best wishes from the President. Mr. Orujev thanked the representatives of the national minorities and the meetings participants for their just assessment to the social and political stability in the country and economic progress in the republic.
