‘NEW CINEMA’ FORUM ENDED IN MOSCOW
“New Cinema” Forum of the CIS and Baltic countries, initiated by the Ministry of Culture and Cinematographers Union of Azerbaijan, ended in Moscow. Azerbaijan was represented by well-known Azerbaijani moviemaker Anver Abluj. For three days, according to him, participants of round tables, art discussions focused on the problems of modern cinematography and establishment of a new International Cinematography Organization. The main purpose of the Organization will be to develop ties and creative cooperation between the cinematographers of independent states, resume a sometime work of film distribution within the former space and realize joint projects.As a result, the participants have founded a “New Cinema” organization of the CIS and Baltic states, chaired by People’s Artist Nikita Mikhalkov. As noted, deputy Culture Minister of Azerbaijan, moviemaker Vagif Mustafayev and Anver Abluj were elected members of a new Cinema Organization.
