NO RELIGIOUS PROBLEMS IN AZERBAIJAN
Head of the Moslems Clerical Office of the Caucasus Sheyk-ul-islam Haji Allahshukur Pashazadeh met with the head of the UNESCO inter-cultural dialogue department Mrs. Caterina Stenu in France. In the course of the meeting, head of the Clerical Office expressed his satisfaction with expansion of inter-cultural and inter-religious dialogue being conducted under the support of UNESCO, AzerTAj correspondent was told at the Embassy of Azerbaijan to France. Mr. Pashazadeh noted that there were established excellent relations between Moslems, Christians and Jews residing in Azerbaijan. Antisemitism has never apperaed in Azerbaijan, he emphasized. Mr. Pashazadeh dwelt on the Religious Researhes Center of the Caucasus Moslems Office, in which 40 scientists, as well as 15 academicians are engaged.Touching on the Azerbaijani-UNESCO relations, A. Pashazadeh expressed his gratitude for assistance of this international organization in relaization of these and other projects. He expressed his satisfaction with Icharishahar’s enterance to the UNESCO World Heritage’s List and wished that other monuments of Azerbaijan to be among of them. Mrs. K. Stenu expressed her satisfaction with the meeting and stressed the necissity for true researchers of inter-cultural and inter-religion studies. She said she was aware of the activities of the Caucasus Clerical Office and would use the potential of this strcuture. Ambassador of Azerbaijan to France Eleonora Huseynova attended the meeting.
