OLYMPIC SPORTS COMPLEX OPENED

The construction works started in 2004 and worth 1 million 600 manats. The Complex has all sports facilities. Training and service facilities are well equipped. 16 cottages are to be built for sportsmen. Currently construction of the new stadium for 3500 people is going on. As informed, in the coming years, new hotels and tennis-courts will be built.
President of Azerbaijan toured the sports complex, viewed the swimming pool, volleyball and basketball playgrounds. The President addressed the people.
The President, in particular, noted high-qualified sportsmen in this area that have honored sports of Azerbaijan at the international contests.
‘I want every region of Azerbaijan developed and became modern with high standard infrastructures, sports facilities, medical and educational institutions’ President Aliyev said.
The head of state said a new airport would be built in the area as well. It is important for development of the regions, their infrastructures, construction of roads, power stations, water and gas pipelines. Socio-economic development of Zagatala region should be carried in complex, the President underlined. “It means new working places and strong economy’.
President of Azerbaijan especially noted necessity of construction of power stations to eliminate electricity shortage in rural areas. As known, it will promote to develop agriculture in the area, too.
Speaking of the socio-economic development of country, the President noted the on-going large economic programs being implemented. ‘Realization of these long-term programs will promote to strengthen positions of the country on international arena’, he stressed. “The socio-political stability in the country, solution of security issues have great impetus on progress of the country, on rise of foreign investment flow. This will strengthen trust in future of Azerbaijan’, the President said.
