OMBUDSMAN RECEIVED OSCE REPRESENTATIVES
Dwelling on the activity of the institution Elmira Suleymanova informed that under the financial assistance of UN Development Program regional centers of Ombudsman were opened in the Northern, Southern and Western regions of the Republic. In future, such centers are to be created for women, elderly, and children as well as for refugees and IDPs, settled in the camps.
It was noted that amendments and additions suggested by the representatives of Ombudsman office to the legislative documents of Azerbaijan would be submitted to the Milli Majlis (Parliament). Shooting of a documentary film reflecting activity of the institution during the year is planned as well.
Speaking on international relations, E. Suleymanova informed that roundtable of Ombudsmen from CIS countries will be held in Baku in November, stressed the efficiency of experience exchange with foreign colleagues. She expressed her confidence in OSCE’s support of this work.
