PACE Committee passes report on Sarsang water reservoir

PACE Committee on Social Affairs, Health and Sustainable Development has passed a report entitled “Inhabitants of frontier regions of Azerbaijan are deliberately deprived of water” by Bosnian Herzegovinian MP Milica Markovic, said member of Azerbaijan`s delegation to PACE Elkhan Suleymanov.
According to him, a member of the Armenian delegation raised the question of postponing the discussion until the June session of PACE, but the proposal was rejected by voting.
The document notes that the creation of environmental disaster zones and an attempt to make the normal living of people in these areas impossible must be regarded as a hostile step of one country against another, and that the poor state of the Sarsang dam can cause victims and disaster, leading to a new humanitarian crisis.
