PREMIER ILHAM ALIYEV GAVE AN INTERVIEW TO THE ‘WASHINGTON POST’
Responding to the question on health of President Heydar Aliyev , the Prime Minister said that on 6 August the head of the Azerbaijani state left for the American city of Cleveland to continue examination and treatment.
Responding to the next questions, the Premier dwelt on ensuring social-political stability after returning in 1993 of Heydar Aliyev on insistent demand of the people to political power, on the measures, implementing in the field of transition to the market economy and construction of democratic society, realization of the oil strategy and connected with this grandiose projects.
In respond to the question, connected with the opposition, Ilham Aliyev underlined that some opposition forces in Azerbaijan for capture of the power roughly violate legal and ethic norms, and that their actions are unambiguously condemned by the society.
The Premier also spoke in detail on the Azerbaijani-American relations, on the core of the most painful problem of Azerbaijan – the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno Karabakh conflict, on the aggressive policy of Armenia.
Ilham Aliyev noted that the Republic of Azerbaijan is going to continue the political course of President Heydar Aliyev, undertake successive measures aimed at improvement of the level of life of the population, stressed that this course is highly assessed by the people of Azerbaijan.
