President: International community recognizes Azerbaijan as a country deserving great respect

“Nowadays the international community recognizes Azerbaijan as a country deserving great respect,” said President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev as he addressed the 6th Congress of the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP).
“The number of our friends is growing. The number of countries supporting us is increasing."
"Just one example is enough to prove this - 155 countries supported our bid for membership of the UN Security Council. This is the vast majority of the international community. We earned this support thanks to our own policy. The policy that is based on the international law and justice. These two important principles have always been fundamental for us. We stay loyal to them. These principles should prevail in regulation of international relations,” the head of state said.
The President added: “We will continue to play our active role on the global scale. Our relations with all the countries are based on mutual respect and non-interference. We will strengthen these relations and elevate our ties with neighboring countries to an even higher level. I am sure of that.”
