Riga Vice-Mayor visits Ganja

A Latvian delegation led by Riga Vice-Mayor Andris Ameriks has visited Ganja.
They met with head of Ganja Executive Authority Elmar Valiyev who highlighted the reconstruction work in the city.
Valiyev emphasized the development of mechanical engineering industry in Ganja, saying it is “blossoming just like other spheres of economy”. “Hundreds of different brands of cars, tractors and agricultural machinery are produced in Ganja automobile plant on an annual basis.”
Ameriks said Riga established cooperation with Surakhani District Executive Authority in 2012, adding the Latvian capital is interested in building ties with Azerbaijan's second largest city Ganja as well.
They also exchanged views over the expansion of tourism opportunities.
During their two-day stay in Ganja, the Latvian delegation will visit the city`s must see places and cultural monuments.
