Rainstorm in Lankaran, a south province of Azerbaijan, on 11 September, has seriously damaged the economies, seeding areas and many objects in the region, correspondent of AzerTAj reports.

Some 2 thousand 250 private houses, over 500 educational, public health and other buildings as well as 1200 ha seeding areas were reportedly undergone natural calamity.

In the residential area of the micro-regions and settlement “Inshaatchilar” of the city of Lankaran, there were flooded the cellars of many-storied houses, involved difficulties for move of the people.

The flood destroyed 2 bridges in the Ashaghy Nuvedi village and one in the village of Osakuche.

In the view of the existing situation, the commission on urgencies functioning in the Executive power body of Lankaran, was set up an operational HQ comprising 15 people.

Necessary crews have been mobilized to liquidate sequences of the rainstorm. The most suffered families have been evacuated to favorable places, and power lines and communications were repaired.

The residents of Lankaran are returning to their vital activities.
