SINCE ARMENIA-AZERBAIJAN CONFLICT NOT SETTLED, ORGANIZING ANY YOUTH ARRANGEMENT IN THE CONFLICT ZONE IS INADMISSIBLE
Some media have disseminated information on familiarization tour to the area on the topic “Youth in the conflict zone: human rights, democracy and participation” initiated by the Pan-Armenian Youth International Center of Armenia in the occupied Nagorny Karabakh region of Azerbaijan on 15-19 November 2004.
The goal of the organizers is, clearly, to attract representatives of world youth, make known the Nagorny Karabakh separatist regime and carry out propaganda against Azerbaijan.
The ministry of youth, sports and tourism, assesses this step as continuation of the insidious intentions, monstrous commitments and violation by Armenia of the breach of the universally recognized international law and calls on the world and local youth organizations to refrain from participation at the arrangement of the Armenian separatists. At the same time, it condemns every effort to organize such arrangements, which are nothing but backing terrorism and separatism.
Since the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorny Karabakh conflict is not settled organizing any youth arrangement in the conflict zone is inadmissible and every such action will negatively influence on peace and negotiation process.
As a state body realizing the youth policy, we bring to the notice of the international and local youth organizations that the ministry will be obliged to reconsider its links with the organizations that promote and participate at such arrangement being conducted at the occupied territories of Azerbaijan without consent of the Azerbaijan Government, and cooperation related to numerous projects connected with youth affairs.
