SITUATION IN THE OCCUPIED TERRITORIES OF AZERBAIJAN DISCUSSED AT SESSION OF UN GENERAL ASSEMBLY
On 29 October, at the 59th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, there was held voting for inclusion on the agenda of the question of situation in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan, AzerTAj correspondent reported. The member countries included the question on agenda of the UN General Assembly as 163rd paragraph, with 42 votes for and 2 against, while 99 countries abstained in the vote. Thus, the situation in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan will be discussed at the United Nations until end of the 59th session. It is expected to happen in December, supposedly.
“Though the question of discussion of the situation in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan at such authoritative organization faced constant pressure, the today’s voting ended positively. It is a serious and important step. We have to do a lot in support of the national interests of our state at the United Nations”, permanent representative of Azerbaijan at the United Nations Yashar Aliyev told the correspondent of AzerTAj.
