SOUTH CAUCASUS PROBLEMS FOCUSED

A 2-day conference on problems of the South Caucasus with participation of the heads US diplomatic missions in Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia was held in Tbilisi, 19 October, AzerTAj correspondent reported. The US Embassy in Georgia organized the Conference.

Prior to the Conference, President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili has received ambassadors of the United States to the South Caucasus countries. In the meeting, discussed were questions of settlement of the conflicts that impede development of the regional countries for years, construction of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan MEP, and others, press service of Georgian president said.

Wives of the ambassadors have visited Marneuli region, where met women at the Development Center of Azerbaijani Women. Discussed were the problems of the women in the region and ways of solution of them. The visitors expressed gratitude for creation of such Center and promised to render assistance to every action of the Center.
