STATE COMMISSION ON WAR PRISONERS, HOSTAGES AND MISSING CITIZENS HELD REGULAR SITTING
The sitting participants were informed in detail on the work done for the six months and heard summary report on the activities of the Commission and working group aimed at search for the citizens of Azerbaijan missing since the Armenian aggression.
It was pointed out that for the above-mentioned period, new facts about 8 our compatriots as well as testimonial evidence indicating that Armenians hide the facts of taking people prisoners and hostages had been received.
It was announced as well that 2866 missing citizens had been registered so far by the State Commission.
The Commission members have also expressed their attitude to the pro-Armenian statements the international working group on search for missing, and release of prisoners and hostages had made during its June visit to Yerevan and Khankendi. They stressed that despite the strong proofs and arguments given by eye-witnesses to taking Azerbaijani citizens prisoners and hostages, the statement on falsification of the facts contradicts to the goals, tasks and unbiased position of the Group.
The known statement by Azerbaijani citizen Avaz Hasanov made in Yerevan has also been condemned by the sitting participants.
They finally emphasized the necessity to intensify the activities for the global community to be informed on the crimes committed by the Armenians against the Azerbaijani citizens taken prisoners and hostages.
