Super sub Manzambi sends Swiss soaring

Switzerland moved to the top of Group B following a Johan Manzambi-inspired victory over ten-man Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Freiburg star scored twice in a goal-filled second half as Switzerland followed up their opening-match draw against Qatar with an impressive and well-deserved victory.
After a quiet first half, the match came to life after the break when Manzambi came off the bench to fire home an unstoppable first-time strike. Fellow substitute Ruben Vargas doubled Switzerland’s advantage with a composed right-footed finish before setting up Manzambi for his second goal, helping to secure the victory and boost his chances in the race for the adidas Golden Boot.
Bosnia and Herzegovina, reduced to ten men after Tarik Muharemovic was shown a red card for a professional foul on Breel Embolo, pulled a goal back in stoppage time through a powerful strike from Ermin Mahmic. However, any hopes of a comeback were quickly extinguished as Switzerland captain Granit Xhaka restored the three-goal cushion with a calmly converted penalty in the closing stages.
