TEMPUS PROJECTS UNDERWAY
The meeting was also attended by officers of the TACIS Coordinating Bureau of the European House, Ministry of Education, TACIS Monitoring office and local TEMPUS coordinators.
The major purpose of the “round table” is to maintain link among projects implemented within the EU’s TEMPUS program. Local project representatives learned the results of other projects implemented in connection with this program.
As was noted, the European Commission has allocated grant to realize 4 new projects within TEMPUS.
The grant is meant for the project “Modern engineering education in higher educational institutions of Azerbaijan” implies dissemination of previous project’s experience implemented by Azerbaijan Technical University. The Azerbaijan Oil Academy, Sumgait State University and Mingachevir Polytechnic University are also involved in this project.
A project “Economy of Building: its construction and contents” is being implemented by Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Arts.
A project “Establishment of National Centers of Biomedical and Veterinary Education in the Southern Caucasus” is being implemented by the Baku State University and Azerbaijan Medical University.
A project “Application of Ecological Education in the Southern Caucasus Region” is being implemented together with the Ganja Agricultural Academy. The new TEMPUS projects will have a positive impact on improvement of education in Azerbaijan.
