UEFA BOLSTERS LOCAL FOOTBALL
Abulfaz Garayev thanked FIFA, UEFA and Marcel Benz personally for assistance in implementation of reforms in Azerbaijani football. These reforms comply with laws of the Azerbaijan Republic, FIFA, UEFA and international law. Speaking of the role of government in this process Minister noted that after a change of AFFA management the work became more purposeful. 10 stadiums have been refurbished while 15 ones will be soon brought in line with international standards.
Abulfaz Garayev also noted that state football development program to be presented to FIFA and UEFA is being drafted.
Having thanked for the warm meeting UEFA represenative Marcel Benz said the management of the international and European football associations is interested in football development in Azerbaijan and going to assist AFFA in implementation of reform.
The meeting was attended by AFFA president Ramiz Mirzoyev.
