Baku, October 13, AZERTAC
UEFA will punish national teams if they refuse to play against Kosovo in the Euro 2024 qualifiers.
National teams that refuse to play against Kosovo in the Euro 2024 qualifiers will face match cancellation followed by disciplinary sanctions.
The Kosovo national team got into Group I with the teams of Andorra, Belarus, Israel, Romania and Switzerland in the qualifying stage of the tournament.
In response to a corresponding request UEFA sent an excerpt from Article 30 of the European Championship regulations.
It states that "if an association refuses to play or is responsible for a match not taking place or not being played in full, the UEFA Control, Disciplinary and Ethical Body (CEDB) declares the match annulled for the association concerned. In addition, if justified by the circumstances of the case, the CEDB may impose any further disciplinary measures, including disqualification from the competition, on the association concerned”.
