UN Climate Change Executive Secretary: COP29 gives us great hope

“Climate change is increasing the risk of disasters all over the world. It is necessary to try to avert such crises in cooperation through the UN. COP29 is the only chance to increase climate resilience. The COP29 Azerbaijan Presidency is actively taking action to be more ambitious and draw attention to the financial commitments,” said Executive Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change Simon Stiell, who joined the COP29 Azerbaijan Presidency press conference in a video format.
Highlighting the activity of the COP Presidencies Troika and importance of the financial supervision, Simon Stiell underlined: “COP29 gives us great hope. At the meeting to be held in Baku, we should try to combine our efforts to meet the challenges ahead”.
