UN hosts high-level meeting of COP Troika presidencies

Another high-level meeting of COP Troika presidencies was held on the sidelines of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly.
Addressing the event, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, COP29 President-Designate Mukhtar Babayev stressed the importance of joint efforts in the fight against global climate change. He commended the cooperation with the "Troika" countries of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) - the United Arab Emirates (COP28) and Brazil (COP30).
Mukhtar Babayev emphasized the necessity of reaching a broad consensus at COP29 to agree on new financial goals and increase support for developing countries in the fight against climate change,” emphasized.
In their remarks, the ministers and high-level representatives of a number of countries, as well as international organizations announced their future goals for the nationally determined contributions (NOC).
