UN’S NEW AGRICULTURAL PROJECTS

The UN Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) jointly with the specialists of Azerbaijan Republic are successfully introducing new projects in numerous different branches of agriculture.

According to the official representative of FAO in Azerbaijan, Ramiz Aliyev, the first joint projects “Soil and climatic conditions test by means of high altitude probation” estimated at 211,5 thousand dollars has been rounded together with the national aerospace agency of the Republic. As the result of this project’s implementation, farmers will be given full information on opportunities of their activities in a particular plot of land.

A joint work with the Ministries of Agriculture, Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan is going on two new projects in the field of agriculture. Besides, they are negotiating on development project on rural products’ same in the Black Sea region, he added.

It should be reminded that Azerbaijan joined this organization on October 20, 1995 and the national representation was opened in December of 2000. The fact that 8 missions of FAO have visited Azerbaijan since January of 2003 is the evidence of the Organization’s strong wish to cooperate with Azerbaijan.
