The works, done in the frame of the European Commission’s Urgent Assistance Program (UAP) at amount of two-third of 30 million Euros that allotted for Azerbaijan were completed, Deputy Premier of Azerbaijan Republic Abid Sharifov said.The works included restoration of 350 houses and 5 secondary schools in the liberated Fizuli region, ecological safety of the Jeyranbatan Water Reservoir that provides the population of the residential area of Absheron peninsula, including Baku and Sumgait, with drinking water, laying high voltage power transmission lines, construction of the ‘Izotop’ Center to bury the radioactive wastes, construction of a part of the Shamkir Channel, construction of the medical department at the Bina penitentiary, purchase of modern equipment for the AIDS lab, construction of the ‘Hazi Aslanov’ subway station and others.
