WORKSHOP FOR JUDGES AND PROSECUTORS HELD

A workshop entitled “criminal penalty and European Convention on Human Rights” has taken place at the training center of the Public Prosecutor’s Office within the program of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Council of Europe /COE/.

The workshop was organized by the Ministry of Justice, Office of the Public Prosecutor, COE Directorate General of Human Rights and its information office.

The workshop attended by judges, prosecutors and justice officers from cities and prroinces of Azerbaijan was addressed by the Christoph Ziman, doctor of the university Viadrina of Frankfurt city, Germany Mrs. Karmen Tiele, first deputy public prosecutor Ramiz Rzayev etc.

The workshop participants considered the application of the provisions of the Convention on Human Rights and Fundamental Human Rights and conformity of national legislation to these provisions, analyzed the paragraphs of the international document regarding the criminal penalty etc.

The workshop participants also discussed the concrete work on consideration of complaints taken from the experience of the European Court. Judges and prosecutors showing in-depth knowledge and professionalism were well recognized.
