Round table on the occasion of the World Breastfeeding Week, annually celebrating from October 1-7 took place at the international press-center. The representatives of the Ministry of Healthcare, UNICEF, women organizations attended the arrangement. It was noted that within past years, children date-rate reduced double.

Since 1993, Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan supported by UNICEF has been implementing program on breastfeeding of children. Results of the program are summed up every five-year and report prepares.

Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On nutrition of the early child” and decree has signed by the national leader Heydar Aliyev are the first steps for recovery of the gene pool.
