20 January martyrs commemorated in Algeria

The Embassy of Azerbaijan in Algeria organized a commemorative event marking the 36th anniversary of the 20 January tragedy.
Additionally, the leading Algerian media outlets, including “alharir.info” and “El Fanek El Arabi” have published an article by Tural Rzayev, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Algeria, highlighting the 36th anniversary of the tragedy.
In his article, the diplomat touched upon the Azerbaijani people’s struggle for freedom and independence, the bloody terror committed by the Soviet troops against the peaceful Azerbaijani civilians, the forcible deportation of the Azerbaijanis from their ancestral lands, Azerbaijan’s victory in the Patriotic War in 2020, the successful anti-terror measures in 2023, resulting in Azerbaijan restoring its territorial integrity, as well as the country’s restoration efforts in the liberated territories and the relocation of former IDPs to their native lands.
