Columbia University hosts commemorative event on 34th anniversary of Khojaly genocide

A commemorative event marking the 34th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide was held at Columbia University in New York, the U.S.
Addressing the event, Azerbaijan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN), Ambassador Tofig Musayev provided the detailed information about the history and consequences of the Khojaly genocide, emphasizing the importance of giving international legal and political assessment of the tragedy.
During the commemorative event, Nargiz Aliyarova, head of the Alliance of Azerbaijani Organizations of America, highlighted the brutal crimes of genocide against the peaceful population committed in Khojaly.
In his remarks, Abdelhamid Siyam, former UN spokesperson and UN bureau chief of Al-Quds Al-Arabi, spoke about the truths regarding Khojaly, underscoring the importance of promoting values of peace and humanism.
The event also featured an exhibition dedicated to the Khojaly genocide.
