The Garabagh Weekend School in Stockholm hosted a commemorative event dedicated to the 34th anniversary of the Khojaly Genocide.
During the event, educators provided students with comprehensive information about the history, causes, and tragic consequences of the massacre.
In their remarks, the teachers emphasized that the Khojaly Genocide is etched in the blood memory of the Azerbaijani people and that this tragedy will never be forgotten. They noted that, regardless of where Azerbaijanis live, efforts will continue to raise international awareness about the Khojaly tragedy and to ensure that it receives a fair legal and political assessment.
As part of the event, students, together with their teachers and parents, prepared a memorial corner. The participants honored the memory of the Khojaly martyrs with a minute of silence and pledged never to forget them.
Students were also informed that, by a decision of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, February 26 has been declared Khojaly Genocide Day, and the tragedy is commemorated annually in Azerbaijan and by Azerbaijanis living abroad.
The event aimed to provide students with detailed information about one of the bloodiest tragedies in Azerbaijan’s history, to honor the victims, and to pass these historical truths on to future generations.
