Baku, February 27, AZERTAC
The next feature in AZERTAC’s “If I Were a Tourist” column highlights the Memorial Museum of Bulbul.
Located at 15 Bulbul Street in Baku, the Bulbul Memorial Museum showcases the life and creative legacy of Bulbul — the founder of Azerbaijani professional vocal art, a USSR People’s Artist, prominent public figure, and professor.
The museum was established at the initiative of National Leader Heydar Aliyev.
Bulbul lived and worked in this house from 1937 until the end of his life on September 26, 1961.
The memorial exhibition consists of four rooms, three of which have been preserved in their original state, maintaining the atmosphere of the era in which the artist lived. The exhibition hall displays materials reflecting his creative journey.
The exposition features artifacts highlighting Bulbul’s artistic, scientific, research, pedagogical, and public activities. Manuscripts, gramophone records, photographs, concert programs, sheet music, books published in various languages, diplomas, awards, and personal belongings are of particular interest to visitors.
The museum offers visitors a unique opportunity to explore the life path of the great artist and experience the ambiance of 20th-century Azerbaijani music.
