Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli produced 59 million barrels during first half of 2026

During the first half of 2026, ACG continued to safely and reliably deliver stable production. Total ACG production for the first half of 2026 was on average about 323,000 barrels per day (b/d) (about 59 million barrels or 8 million tonnes in total) from the Chirag (19,300 b/d), Central Azeri (88,000 b/d), West Azeri (73,300 b/d), East Azeri (45,000 b/d), Deepwater Gunashli (47,000 b/d), West Chirag (24,000 b/d) and ACE (26,400 b/d) platforms, bp Azerbaijan has told AZERTAC.
In the first half of 2026, bp and its co-venturers spent about $268 million in operating expenditure and about $733 million in capital expenditure on ACG activities.
During the first half, the 4D high-definition ocean bottom node seismic programme on ACG progressed with the completion of processing of the data acquired in 2025.
The multi-well subsea intervention campaign operations in the Deepwater Gunashli area also continued, with five subsea intervention jobs completed and activities currently underway on the sixth well.
During the first half of the year, the Central Azeri Gas Expansion (CAGE) project activities continued as planned. Key upgrades to the four existing gas injection compressors on the platform were completed including the replacement of compressor cartridges and auxiliaries. These works were delivered safely and ahead of schedule during live platform operations, without the need for a plant outage or additional flaring.
The CAGE project is designed to increase gas reinjection capacity on the Central Azeri platform to help maximize recovery from the existing wells. It commenced in January 2026 and is expected to be completed in September this year, following the delivery of the remaining modifications during the planned maintenance programme on Central Azeri and the completion of all post-modification activities.
ACG participating interests are: bp (operator - 30.37%), SOCAR (35.30%), MOL (9.57%), INPEX (9.31%), ExxonMobil (6.79%), TPAO (5.73%), ONGC Videsh (2.92%).
