AZERBAIJANI ACROBATS WIN SILVER MEDALS AT WORLD JUNIOR GAMES
Azerbaijani acrobats successfully ended their performances at the third World Junior Games in France. Men’s group including Ilham Abbasov, Rustam Najafguliyev, Vugar Ahmadov and Farid Mammadov secured the second spot. They garnered 14.300 points for tempo exercises in the final, press-service of the Gymnastics Federation of Azerbaijan. Russian acrobats became winners with 14.750 points.
The 19th world sport gymnastics championship will start on May 21 in France. Elshan Seyfullayev, Neymat Agayev, Elnur Mammadov and Rashad Sadikhov will compete in the group competitions as well as the men’s pair Razzag Babayev and Alibey Huseynov. They will perform tempo, balance exercises and mixed exercises on the first two days of the competition. To qualify for the final of the championship they need to among the best eight teams.
Acrobats from 21 countries gathered for the world championship. Russian athletes are the favorites in all the routines. China, Great Britain, Ukraine, Belarus, Germany and Portugal have a large team size.
