AZERBAIJANI LAWMAKERS TO ATTEND INTER-PARLIAMENTARY UNION’S ASSEMBLY
113th assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union will commence in Geneva, October 17, the Milli Majlis press service said.
Members of the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijan Parliament) Gulchohra Mammadova, Rizvan Jabiyev and head of the foreign relations department of Milli Majlis Namig Aliyev will represent Azerbaijan.
Discussed are expected the issues of the role and tasks of parliaments in combat against armed conflicts, terrorism, migration, the role of parliament in development of democracy and others.
After the meeting, a special seminar on the topic “Elimination of any kind of discrimination against women” is due on October 20, jointly organized by the United Nations.
The visit ends on 22 October.
