Agha Mikayil Bath is a 4-century old Bathhouse erected in the 18th century in Icharishahar, a world heritage site protected by UNESCO.
Constructed by Haji Agha Mikayil, who hails from Azerbaijan’s city of Shamakhi, the bathhouse is located in the Kickik Gala Street, also known as the “Hamamchilar mahallasi”- the Neighborhood of Bathhouse Keepers among the locals.
The interior of the building differs from other bathhouses due to its large spaciousness. The bath’s wardrobe, as well as bath-rooms are square shaped.
The architectural composition of the building features pointed arches, cupolas and domes divided by proportional tiers.
