Azerbaijani, Turkish foreign ministries conduct next round of political consultations

The foreign ministries of Azerbaijan and Turkey have conducted the next round of political consultations in Ankara. Azerbaijan`s delegation at the consultations was headed by deputy FM Khalaf Khalafov, while deputy FM Umit Yalcin led the Turkish delegation.
They hailed strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Turkey.
The deputy FMs pointed out the growing potential of the two countries in political, economic and defense areas. They noted the regional and global role of Azerbaijan and Turkey. They praised the two countries` cooperation in international organizations as well as within regional platforms.
Khalafov thanked Turkey for supporting Azerbaijan on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
They hailed energy cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey, particularly TAP and TANAP projects, in terms of ensuring energy security of Europe.
They also discussed the Middle East problem, joint fight against terrorism and resolution of regional conflicts.
Khalafov also met with Turkish deputy FM Ahmet Yilmaz, and the two stressed strategic ties between the two countries. The deputy FMs also emphasized the necessity of speeding up efforts towards combating terrorism.
