BERLIN TO HOST MEETING OF COORDINATING COUNCIL OF WORLD AZERBAIJANI AND TURKISH DIASPORA ORGANIZATIONS
The meeting of Coordinating Council of the World Azerbaijani and Turkish Diaspora Organizations is to be held March 27 in Berlin, Germany.
The event will take place in accordance with the Baku Declaration adopted at the first forum of Heads of World Azerbaijani and Turkish Diaspora Organizations on March 9, 2007 in Baku, the State Committee for Working with Azerbaijanis Residing in Foreign Countries said.
The meeting participants will elect co-chairs of the Coordinating Council. The meeting will also discuss prospects for development of cooperation between Azerbaijani and Turkish Diaspora organizations, outstanding tasks and new methods of informing the world community about the two peoples’ history and modern life.
Reports to be delivered at the event will deal with relationships between Azerbaijani and Turkish Diasporas and their joint activity.
The statement on the 90th anniversary of the genocide committed against Azerbaijanis on March 31, 1918 is expected to be adopted at the event.
The Coordinating Council was set up at the first forum of Heads of Azerbaijani and Turkish Diasporas. The Council has 101 members.
