“We take the earthquake, which occurred in Turkiye, as our own sorrow and pain. The best testament of this is the outpouring of aid to collection points from people living in every region of Azerbaijan. Some donate warm clothes they wear,” Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov said in Kahramanmaras at a joint press conference with his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu.
The Minister said that thousands of volunteers seek to come to Turkiye and the only reason why they are not coming is that it is a ‘difficult’ operation. According to him, there must be a coordination in place between the authorities as too many people’s massing together in one location does not add up to the common goal. Bayramov underscored that volunteers would be arriving in Turkiye in groups in predetermined order.
