Brazil Communication Company EBC intends to sign cooperation agreement with AZERTAC
Baku, April 5, AZERTAC
The Brazil Communication Company (EBC) has expressed its willingness to sign a cooperation agreement with Azerbaijan State News Agency (AZERTAC), as Azerbaijani Ambassador to the Federative Republic of Brazil Elkhan Polukhov met with EBC Director General Christiane Samarco.
EBC Director for Journalism Lourival Macedo and Agência Brasil Manager Alberto Coura also attended the meeting, which aimed to discuss points of cooperation between the news agencies.
Agência Brasil Manager Alberto Coura said the cooperation agreement will focus on exchange of news, photos, video clips, and critical material produced in English.
“I’m really glad with the prospective signing of this deal, as this agreement will contribute to the development of cooperation between the two countries and will make it possible for the Brazilian people to get to know our culture, and for our country, in turn, to start receiving the firsthand information about Brazil, its culture, and its economy,” said Ambassador Elkhan Polukhov.
Among the events relevant to both nations this year that could be held within the scope of this partnership, Polukhov mentioned the 100th anniversary of Azerbaijan’s independence, the 25th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Brazil, and the 2nd World Capoeira Championship, scheduled to take place from May 11 to 12, in Baku, Azerbaijan.
The EBC news agency broadly covered the meeting and highlighted Azerbaijan's geographical position, its economy and multicultural environment on its website.
