CENTRAL ELECTION COMMISSION REPORTS
Secretary of the Central Election Commission Ingilab Nasirov informed the session on Instructions of adoption of polling stations’ protocols by district election commission and extra information on rules of placing them into the computer of district election commission by means of State automatic informational system. The Instructions were approved with introduction of some offers.
Further Secretary of CEC Vidady Mahmudov informed on registration of 7 agents appointed by the Party of National Independence of Azerbaijan and 3 agents of the Musavat party. Members of the commission approved the both issues.
The issues of changes introduced into the membership of some district commission were discussed and the related resolutions were passed.
Members of the Commission considered the applies received by the Central Election Commission and passed a resolution on sending some of the applies to Prosecutor General Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Further, some publications in mass media, calling to capture of the authorities by force and change of the constitutional regime of the Republic of Azerbaijan slandering honor and dignity of citizens and calls to use violence against them, pulling people into civil unrest were discussed by the session. A major part of CEC members expressed serious concern over these calls.
Underlining those democratic and fair elections is the only way of coming into power in Azerbaijan, members of CEC said that some circles are aspirating to violate stability, to create chaos and to capture the authorities illegally. The opinion of majority of commission members is that these actions cause serious concern and are directed against statehood of the country.
Stating on necessity of taking timely actions against such calls, the Central Election Commission passed a resolution on studying the facts on this issue and sending them to Prosecutor General Office by appeal, Ministry of National Security and Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan to take adequate actions. Central Elections Commission stated on serious concern over such articles appeared in mass media and considered important to appeal to the related organs and organizations.
Representatives of the International Fund of Election Systems, Bureau of democratic institutions and human rights of OSCE, Embassy of USA, local and foreign mass media were present at the session of Central Election Commission.
