Daily Khabrain: “20 Years of Azerbaijan-Pakistan Bilateral Relations. Challenges of 21st Century”
Baku, December 30 (AZERTAC). The Pakistan “Daily Khabrain “ newspaper has published an article entitled “20 Years of Azerbaijan-Pakistan Bilateral Relations. Challenges of 21st Century”.
According to Azerbaijan Embassy to Pakistan, the author of the article is Naman Zafar, President, Azerbaijan-Pakistan Foundation President, Pakistan Center for Security Policy.
The article says: “Azerbaijan and Pakistan enjoy very prominent position among Islamic countries and international community. Both countries started their journey of brotherhood in 1992 when Pakistan was the country who came to recognize Azerbaijan immediately after his birth. Since then both countries have covered various mile stones towards new heights of brotherhood and cooperation. The architects of these relations were great leaders like President Heydar Aliyev (late) and Prime Minister of Pakistan Benazir Bhutto (late).
Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with the Republic of Azerbaijan, and is willing to add more strength, depth and substance to bilateral relations. Pakistan openly supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and has backed the Azerbaijan`s position on the issue of Nagorno-Karabakh. That is the reason why Pakistan has not established diplomatic relations with Armenia. Pakistan officially considers Armenia as an aggressor who committed crimes against humanity by killing hundreds and thousands of innocent Azerbaijani people including women and children in Khojali and other places.
Azerbaijan also supports Pakistan`s position on the issue of Jammu and Kashmir. Azerbaijan has extended continuous support to Pakistan in the United Nations. Azerbaijan extends unconditional support to Pakistan`s efforts for membership of Human Rights Council and membership of the United Nation`s Economic and Social Council.
Azerbaijan-Pakistan Foundation will leave no stone unturned for the promotion of Pakistan-Azerbaijan bilateral relations and hopes that these relations will continue to flourish in the days ahead and grow into a more mutually beneficial and stronger partnership.”
