GENEVA WORLD SUMMIT ON INFORMATION SOCIETY DUE
According to the information received by AzerTAj, the Summit also to be joined by heads of state will be attended by 607 representatives from 142 countries. The UN Secretary General Koffi Annan and the Secretary General of the International Electronic Communications Union are expected to make remarks at the starting sitting.
On the last day of plenary sessions, a Declaration and program of future activity will be adopted. Then, heads of state and government will make final statements and discuss conclusions of the meetings. Participants of the Summit also will discuss the issues of preparation for the second stage of 2005 Tunis World Summit on information society.
In the frame of Summit, a “round table» with participation of the representatives of the UN structures, special agencies, inter-governmental commissions, non-governmental organizations and civic societies, will be conducted.
