German MP: There must not be any attack on civilian population
Baku, July 10, AZERTAC
In his response to an enquiry by the Berlin office of The European Azerbaijan Society regarding the killing of Sahiba Guliyeva and her two-year-old granddaughter Zahra Guliyeva due to Armenian shelling of the civilian population of the Alkhanly village in the Fuzuli district, Bundestag member from CDU Patrick Sensburg made a statement.
“I have been informed about the unfortunate news of the deaths of Sahiba Guliyeva (50) and her two-year-old granddaughter Zahra Guliyeva from the Azerbaijani region of Fizuli. This report from yet further civilian victims of the conflict about Nagorno-Karabakh has saddened me deeply. Furthermore, there seem to be even more heavily injured Azerbaijani civilians as victims of a targeted granate attack from the Armenian forces,” said Sensburg.
“I strongly urge both parties, to bring this conflict to a swift solution by a return to the peaceful negotiation process. There must not be any attack on the civilian population. The Security Council of the United Nations has clarified numerous times that only the immediate withdrawal of the military troops of Armenia out of Nagorno-Karabakh and the 7 surrounding regions can ensure a sustainable solution,” he said.
